I have enjoyed my publishing journeys with DartFrog. I continue to be attracted to topics and subjects that are worthwhile but are often ignored by large publishers. I have published “traditionally,” but I was frustrated with my minimal impact on final decisions. Years after one book was published, for which I had suggested changes in some illustrations, my then editor said, “We should have listened to you.” DartFrog listens to their authors and takes time to understand the goals with each book. The collaboration between author, editor, and illustrator has been key to producing my books—and to their winning awards. In addition, I must mention that while on vacation, one of my editors went out of her way to visit a historic location in one of my books and send me a photo. That is personal service indeed.

My editor sent me a list of 6 possible companies to work with to publish my book. I liked DartFrog from the moment I read their site. I appreciated the different services they had and that I could pick and choose the ones I wanted and not pay for things I didn’t. My call with Gordon was so easy and I could tell his company was lead by someone with integrity and that the authors were very important to him and his team. Speaking of teams, my whole team was really a dream to work with. Everyone communicated in a clear and timely fashion and answered all my questions and I had a lot of them as a first-time author. I’ve recommended DartFrog to a number of authors already and will definitely use them again!

I published my first two books with DartFrog. The team was great in all aspects, which was perfect for someone new to the process.

DartFrog is a thorough and professional production company. Great coaching, review, editing and graphics. A full-service operation that brings out the best.

Loved working with DartFrog. They answered all my questions promptly, and they took the feedback I got on various cover art designs and ended up coming up with wonderful cover art.

I appreciated the time and effort from my team in evolving the book from draft to storyboard to publication. In particular, matching me with my illustrator was the most influential step. We collaborated the whole way and made a product that has been very successful.

I have used DartFrog for three books. They have always been great. They have given me great suggestions and even found me photos that were better than what I had. I have recommended them to my friends with books. I highly recommend them.

DartFrog Books’ owner Gordon McClellan and his staff are wonderful to work with. I appreciate their honesty, professional guidance, creative suggestions, timely communication, and ability to reach deadlines. They know what books will sell and guide you in that direction. I am publishing my 4th book and have used DartFrog Books for all four publications. I would never use anyone else. I have referred many authors to their services. It continues to be an honor and pleasure to work with them. They are the best.

I came back to DartFrog for a second book because I trust Gordon, Suanne, and the staff. They have integrity and are very invested in producing books of the highest quality. They answer questions promptly and honestly, and streamline the process as much as possible. I’ve enjoyed working with them, and I recommend them highly.

Very easy to work with. Good advice. Good end product.

I cannot overstate my good fortune in having found DartFrog for the publication of my first novel. The advice and support that I have received from the DartFrog team has been above reproach.

It was a very pleasant experience for me. I was guided, always with respect, into necessary decisions, always with pro’s and con’s articulated. I appreciated the transparency of the interaction among the whole team which was always apparent on the platform they used. The single biggest contribution was the cover design, which went through several stages but wound up just perfect. My fears about how to get the book into the market were unfounded — DartFrog did all the necessary footwork.

After going through two other publishers I finally found Dartfrog to publish my third novel. They are everything a self-publishing house should be. Great talent and foresight in publishing with great patience to help a sometimes knucklehead like me. I highly recommend them.

The DartFrog team did a wonderful job assisting me with the 10th Anniversary Edition of my manuscript. They helped me get to the heart of my story in a way I wasn’t able to in the original edition. They helped me land the plane that was circling the airport for ten years and finally touched down. I highly recommend them!

I could not imagine a better team of experts to handle the publishing of my book than DartFrog Books. DartFrog’s expertise, professionalism, skill, and dedication to creating the most beautiful book possible, and the team’s enthusiasm for the success of the book and the author, was truly exceptional. From the very first manuscript read, Gordon McClellan sensed the story that needed to be told and helped me see my own words and vision more clearly. From that point forward, the book was in expert hands from design, editing, marketing, and publishing with excellent communication and guidance from start to finish. DartFrog has an extraordinarily unique community of talented, caring people, and I look forward to working with them on my next book!

A very pleasant and positive experience working with DartFrog on my memoir “CAUGHT WITH MY PANTS DOWN and Other Tales from a Life in Hollywood”!

My experience with DartFrog has been amazing. I look forward to having them publish my next books.

This is my second time utilizing DartFrog for book editing, formatting, and proofreading services. Regardless of which team I am working with, everyone is friendly and helpful at every stage of the process. I have been very satisfied with their services and would use them if I decide to write a third book.

I have done several books with DartFrog. I was looking for a “family” feel, the type of company that made you feel important, looked after, cared about. I got all that and much more from DartFrog. When I met DF publisher, Gordon McClellan, I felt an immediate connection. He was (and is) personable, funny, friendly, and — importantly — very knowledgeable of the publishing world and the best ways to produce a great book. He has built a great team of project managers, editors, proofreaders, layout artists, illustrators, and marketers. The book quality and (especially) the illustrations are fantastic. My magical pug and I are now working on our next book!

DartFrog made the process of self-publishing far easier than I anticipated it would be. I really appreciated the support they provided through each step of the process and have shared my experience with friends who are interested in self-publishing. I would definitely use them again!

I highly recommend DartFrog Books. Working with the folks at DartFrog made the experience of bringing my books to reality an incredibly pleasant process. The entire time I felt like my project received the utmost attention and expert handling. Their commitment to ensuring that I was satisfied with the final product exceeded my expectations. It was a joy to work with everybody involved and I will gladly do so again on all future projects.

As a new author, I was feeling very overwhelmed by the prospect of pitching my book to publishers and avoiding the potential pitfalls of the current publishing environment. DartFrog came highly recommended to me, not only by another of their published authors but also by The Alliance of Independent Authors, so I was confident in my choice when Gordon accepted my first novel Darkness Rising. I was not disappointed. The support I received throughout the process was excellent, particularly as I had not been through this process before and needed a lot of guidance. My cover designer and editing team were fantastic and I was thrilled with the final result. DartFrog also produced an amazing book trailer and website for me. I highly recommend DartFrog to any author looking for professional and knowledgeable publishers who will support you and do the very best for you and your book all the way.

As a self-published author, I could not have released beautiful and professional looking books without the services from DartFrog!

Once upon a time, an author stood on the edge of a cliff with the future of her first novel stretched out before her, and no idea what to do next. Indie publishers began calling her, telling her that her work was a masterpiece and that they would be delighted to publish it for her. She did love her book, and so had the editor to whom she’d entrusted it, but she wondered how publishers could love it when they hadn’t read a word of the manuscript. She wrote magic, but this seemed a little odd. So she began to research the industry, and in her cyber-wanderings found a site called ALLi, the Alliance of Independent Authors. It vetted everyone in the industry, giving some a red flag rating and others a green light. And at the top of their list, lit up in green, was Dartfrog Books. I am that author. I took the plunge and let go the hand of my first work, and the next morning I received a call from the publisher himself, Gordon McClellan, telling me he’d given the manuscript to his editor and told her to read it overnight, and that they found it to be bookstore quality. That was the first step in a partnership that has now spanned seven years and six novels. Through Dartfrog I was able to participate in Book Con and an author evening at The Strand in New York City, as well as book clubs and other events showcasing my books. The staff are professional and eminently capable, and I have always felt secure in their care. Diving off a cliff isn’t so frightening if you have a parachute. Dartfrog is that parachute.

Previously, we have used two other publishers. Hands down, DartFrog Books is the absolute best! Gordon McClellan and his team are outstanding. Through every phase of the publishing process, they bring excellence to the details of editing, interior and cover design, formatting, and publishing on varying platforms. We found them to be exceptionally knowledgeable, responsive, high-integrity, highly professional, and a joy to work with. My latest book, Tatae’s Promise, co-authored with Moises J Goldman, was a massive project at 550 pages. Thanks to DartFrog, the e-book and print versions are high-quality and precisely perfect as we had hoped. Post-production, DartFrog has consistently helped drive our sales and marketing campaigns. This has resulted in book awards, a book cover award, and after hundreds of reviews, an exceptional 4.8 out of 5-Star rating on Amazon and Goodreads. We definitely will use DartFrog Books again for our future publishing projects. Highly recommended!

I was so grateful to work with everyone at Dart Frog on my latest book. From my first meeting with Gordon, I felt supported and respected for my work. Every facet of my publishing experience was excellent, from developmental editing, design, social media and overall project management. I highly recommend Dart Frog and look forward to working with them again on my next book (as soon as I write it)!

I’m so grateful to have published my book with DartFrog! They paired me with a wonderful illustrator and helped bring my book to life. Communication is key and my team was always quick to respond to any questions or concerns I had during the process. Working with them was a pleasure and I look forward to more projects with them in the future.

Choosing DartFrog for my first book was truly enlightening. A friend who had also written a book recommended them, and I am so glad they did. The team at DartFrog made the entire process seamless and efficient. Their expertise and guidance at every step of the way were invaluable and led to a successful outcome for my book.

After interviewing with several publishers, I knew DartFrog was the one for me. Gordon actually picks up the phone. He not only listens but offers fair and honest feedback and advice. I am truly grateful for how he goes the extra mile to ensure each detail of the project is done correctly. I highly recommend DartFrog!

DartFrog has been a wonderful partner. Gordon McClellan and his company DartFrog have gone beyond any of my expectations in making Tatae’s Promise a success.

Working with Dartfrog was a pleasure. The project went smoothly and was completed efficiently. I’m grateful for their turnkey solution, which made it easy to bring my memoir, Bones: Anorexia, Anxiety, and My Path to Self-Love, to life and share it with the world

When it came to self-publishing, I did A LOT of research. I looked up ratings, I read reviews, I made calls, and I sent emails. A LOT of emails. And Dart Frog had a stellar reputation. A team was assigned, and they flawlessly moved me from one step of the process to the next. I had decisions to make and tasks to complete, but they did everything they possibly could for me. What I’m unsure about is whether or not everyone receives the same kind-but-blunt honest opinions about where they are, where they’re going, and how best to get there. I’m assuming everyone does. But that sort of honesty and frankness won my business, and I completely put myself in their capable hands. I would encourage anyone considering Dart Frog to do the same, and you’ll end up with a book (or books) you’re proud of. These publishing professionals are the sh*t.

Teaming up with DartFrog was one of the smartest moves I’ve ever made as a writer. Gordon was a delight to work with, and so, I assure you, were Suanne, Carrie, Katelynn, and the rest of the DartFrog team. They’re a friendly, hard-working, patient group, and they’re filled to overflowing with the kind of editing and marketing expertise authors yearn for and deserve.

Dartfrog offered support every step of the way and really made the entire process easy to understand and professional.

I achieved great results working with DartFrog and its Canoe Tree Press program. DartFrog helped me produce and publish my historical non-fiction book, Into Russia’s Cauldron, in approximately four months’ time which met my ambitious goals. The book’s formatting, cover design, associated book trailer and author website, among other publishing and marketing tasks, all met my (often exacting) expectations and I have continuously received uniformly positive feedback on all of DartFrog’s work. Canoe Tree’s team coordinator Suanne Laqueur knows her stuff. She is very disciplined, was always immediately responsive, helpful and honest. I give Gordon McClellan the same high marks. It is very important and assuring to have these highly professional and knowledgeable people on your team. This was my first book and first time using a self-publishing firm and I can recommend the DartFrog team without reservations.

I had a wonderful experience with DartFrog! I spoke with owner and founder Gordon McClellan by phone before submitting my manuscript and decided to take, what I thought at the time, was a chance. It was actually a great decision. Supported throughout the process by skilled, patient, and responsive professionals (Ali Trowbridge, Carrie Gessner, Katelynn Watkins, and Suanne Laqueur). They answered all of my questions and enabled me to feel comfortable with a completely unknown process. Thank you, DartFrog team, for a wonderful experience and bringing Out of the Basement to life.

I had the best experience with publishing my cookbook with DartFrog. From cover design all the way through the editing process they were great! They always got right back to me with all my questions and I had a lot because I had never published a book before. They had talented artists draw illustrations for my book and had great ideas and suggestions. The distribution of my book and availability that they put into place has been amazing. I owe my success to the great people at DartFrog! Sincerely grateful.

As an author, I feel held in the publishing process, and I have great joy when working with the staff!”

I cannot speak too highly of the Canoe Tree team if you are self-publishing. I knew nothing about the process, so needed a great deal of help and advice which their team always gave quickly, with expertise and endless patience. I talked with six publishers before choosing them and have never for a moment regretted my choice. Thank you Gordon, Suanne, Mark and Simona.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with Dartfrog. Somebody was always available to answer my questions and address my concerns within a day or two. More than that, the staff at Dartfrog supported me and the creation of my book every step of the way. I am grateful to have found them. They truly helped my dream become a reality

I worked with (Canoe Tree Press) coordinator Suanne Laqueur on this book. I found her to be highly professional, efficient, knowledgeable, timely, and kept me informed throughout the entire course of my publishing journey. This was the very first time I used a self-publishing firm and found it to be totally worthwhile either for a novice or established author. I plan to use them once again soon.

This was the right company to turn to for my publishing needs. My book required special formatting, to accommodate over 70 illustrations. They chose a font that completely complimented the spirit of the story. The size of the book, paper, cover, all of it was chosen to suit the look I wanted for my book. I did not have to send away my original artwork, which was very important to me. I easily uploaded all my art and text using a file sharing matrix that they provided. I can’t say enough good things about the communications. Whether it was by phone or email, any request or question was dealt with, within minutes. I knew nothing about the publishing process when I started. Everything was explained in detail to me so that I felt like my satisfaction was the most important thing and my book would meet my expectations.
